My Life in Lists
So good things about living with the in-laws (albeit it temporarily):
* My mother-in-law is a much more dedicated housekeeper and chef than me
* My husband's bedroom is pitch black dark, so I am sleeping like the dead
* The landscape and surroundings are beautiful and serene
* Hot showers anytime! (We have a faulty water heater at home, so it's always a crap shoot)
* I like spending time with other people- talking and watching TV and entertaining Sean
Bad things about living with the in-laws:
* The internet service is HORRENDOUS
* It's really hard to wake up in the morning
* I left my tripod at home so no good pictures
* I feel guilty wanting to eat out or leaving early for breakfast in the morning
So I know you are all dying to know why we aren't at home. We aren't on some fabulous vacation. We discovered while on our disasterous anniversary weekend that we have a small carpet beetle "problem." Don't ask me about it- I've purposely avoided Googling the dreaded carpet beetle because I don't want to know. But apparently they live in carpet (big surprise) and eat hair (I have lots of that shedding all over the place) and animal hair (see the first reason I like living with my mother-in-law- I'm pretty gross.)
The good news is we don't have bed bugs. That was my first fear, and I was disgusted! The other good news is I was so distressed over the "bug problem" that my husband let me have a mini-shopping spree at Old Navy. Off to eat a meal that I didn't have to make!

I give you credit for living with the in-laws! I don't think I could live with my mother in law! Your floral dress looks so pretty on you :)

Love these photo backgrounds and your lovely dress! :)
So glad to hear they weren't bed bugs, and other people cooking is always a nice treat!
We had carpet beetles in my son's room last year. We had Terminex come out and spray and haven't had a problem since! It's tough having to leave home and live somewhere else, but when you get home, you will enjoy it so much more!
You have so many fresh florals in your closet! You look lovely.
I really loved the background in the pictures today, especially the first one. I like geometric patterns.
I am so glad to hear its not bed bugs...we had them 2 years ago and it was just an awful experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. You look adorable, I really like your muted print dress and that fun cardigan.
LOVE your outfit! Hope your problem is soon resolved. But I'm glad that, meanwhile, there are good things about being with the folks.
Katie, you look gorgeous in florals! Your MIL sounds like a nice lady, trust me, I've heard lots of horror stories about MILs...some that have very odd habits...like digging for gold, walking around the house in their b-day suits...omg. Glad to see you are in a better mood :)
Your blog is great I catch up on it every week God Bless ya darling I know what it's like to come home from a vacation to a bug problem 7 years ago we came home and found carpenter ants in our bay window and had to tear everything out down to the studs replace everything including brick work and studs... also know what it's like for a house to sell quick our last one went in 2 days talk about being unprepared and we were switching states. You are lucky to have a great support system and know there are readers out there pulling for ya also.

Glad to hear your in-laws are a blessing (and that it's not bed bugs). :) Love the boots, the belt, and the muted floral. Oh, also love mini-sprees at Old Navy ... hope you post about the goodies you picked up. :)
Thanks Carrie. I was so relieved too! I was ready to burn my house down! I am definitely going to be posting new Old Navy stuff- I've worn new stuff the last three days! There's always a silver lining!
Thank you RaNae for reading and commenting! It means so much to me! Carpenter ants are vicious, so I guess I got lucky with these beetles, we won't have to tear anything down. Bless you for dealing with that!

BAHAHAHA! Can you imagine having guests in your home and just walking around naked! I don't like to do it anyway!!! And thank you for the comment about the florals, sometimes I feel like a tablecloth or old lady curtains! ;)

Thank you Jeanine! Do you do color analysis for girls like me or just women of color? I've always wondered what "season" I am!
Thank you! thank you! I find I am gravitating towards those muted patterns, more wearable for me! And GOD BLESS YOU for dealing with Bed Bugs I know they are tenacious! I was so thankful!
Brianna- this was the cutest little alley in Anniston, off of Noble St!
