"Fedor"able :)

Look, when your blog designer and one of your favorite bloggers (and biggest supporters from nearly day one) ask you to answer 11 questions, you do it! Kristin at A Simply Klassic Home tagged me and I loved her questions, so here we go!

  1. If you could spend the day with your favorite blogger, who would it be and why? What would you do? Oh, this is an easy one! I would spend the day shopping with my Blogging Best Friend Forever-BBFF- Megan from Feathers and Freckles (she is a thrifting genius!)
  2. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? I love Neopolitan, but I really prefer banana splits!!
  3. What current decorating/design/clothing trend do you despise? Oh my Gosh! What the crap is up with all the hipster glasses? My dad wore then in the 80s. They were dorky then, and they are hideous now (at least in my humble opinion).
  4. What TV show are you embarrassed to admit that you watch? I'm not embarrassed to admit to watching a butt ton of TV. I love my DVR. I watch a ton of crappy reality TV- hoarding shows, tattoo shows, modeling shows, true crime shows, but I guess the one that I feel like I have to defend the most is "Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood". I love them! They seem very much in love, but they don't gloss over the fighting or the frustrations of life with kids or navigating marriage. However, most people are very dismissive of the show. Don't be! Give it a shot!
  5. Who or what inspired you to start blogging? I answer this in part in a question later on, but I starting reading a bunch of blogs (thanks, Pinterest!) and I was disappointed that so few focused on the curvy/plus-size/ big girl crowd because I know we are out there and we want to look good too, darn it! At the same time, I had a student (I am a HS English and journalism teacher) interview me for the school newspaper about my sense of "style". I was so shocked and appreciative. Coupled with the fact that I couldn't find blogs for women my size, those two things were the catalyst to begin Hems for Her.

You look so cute in this fedora and I am loving that yellow bag!!

Haha, I would love to spend the day together thrifting :) We are so close yet so far! And yes, I absolutely hate the hipster bright glasses. I am in love with that Bette Davis quote, that's a great one!

You are so stylin in that fedora, Katie! These questions were so fun. I too watch a ton of tv and probably couldn't live without my 2 DVRs (one is just not enough, haha!).

Napping and TV might be two of my favorite things in the world. I watch so many of those hoarding shows. Have you caught any of My Strange Addiction or My Crazy Obession? Television gold...

Aww thanks for participating! It was fun to read your answers!! I was so thrilled to find your blog because I had no idea there were plus size fashion blogs!! What you said about Tori & Dean cracked my up my BFF is a huge fan and is always watching it. She always asks me "did you watch it???" to which I reply, "No." LOL! Love the quotes, especially the Bette Davis one.

I'm definitely going to have to come up with some kind of prize. Can I just tell you how beyond cool it is to get comments like yours?! I have found blogs and just read all of it in one sitting, but I never in a million years thought someone would say it about my blog one day. That is TOO amazing!

I wish I had tagged people! :( I thought I was the only one who liked little things like this! I too love learning more about my favorite bloggers... you guys really become friends!

Thank you!! I love that quote too! I am really bad about "bringing stuff home with me"- like all my stresses and aggravations and worrying about things, and that quote is a reminder to just let it all go!

They are definitely two of my favorite things- right up there with eating!!! I LOVE My Strange Addiction, but I've only seen commercials for the other. Did you see the one about the woman eating her husband's ASHES! CRAZY!!

Hems for Her, a.k.a. Katie said...

Thank you! I have been begging my husband for several years to get me another DVR... maybe it's time to ask again! I could really use one for the bedroom- when I don't want to get out of bed to watch my shows!

Thank you! I hate that we are so close, yet so far! Why?!? So unfair. Glad I'm not the only one annoyed with those glasses ;)

Thank you, Annie! The three of us just need to meet somewhere central and shop till we drop (or run out of money!!)

I love this outfit, and also love this little Q&A! That's so amazing that you stepped in and filled a void in the blogosphere, I think you are repping every curvy girl out there better than anyone else could! And I love Megan - glad to hear you two are such good bloggy friends, she's incredible!

I also watched Empire Records a bazillion times. There are tons of little poetic gems in that movie! My best friend and I used to quote it to each other all the time.
