Almost immediately I was kicking myself for not buying a DSLR before Sean was born. I struggled for the past four years to capture smiles and action photos, and my crappy point-and-shoot cameras were never fast enough. Many of my photos captured me with my eyes closed. Again too slow. The speed of a DSLR makes it worth every penny you'll spend on it. Truly.
I accidentally left my camera at work over the weekend. This meant we had to pull out the old point-and-shoot, and the difference was amazing and painful. Photos blurry and out of focus. Over exposed and blown out. My eyes were closed in most of the photos. Ugh! I have so much to learn about taking pictures, but a good camera makes good photos so much easier!

I agree with you. I really wish I had the camera I have now when I was pregnant. Theres something about capturing EVERYTHING with a quality camera that just makes life better.
What a pretty skirt, and I love the photo of you laughing :)
I know what you mean, you really can tell the difference with a good camera. I hope to upgrade mine someday, especially before having children so I can capture all those special (and quick!) moments.
Definitely good advice. I've been hoping to upgrade for a while now. My little point and click just isn't cutting it, but the list of things I need to buy is just too long. Maybe by Christmas time! Love that floral skirt:)
I love your floral print skirt, Katie! I'm using a point and shoot camera and I'd LOVE to upgrade it but I just don't have the funds at the moment. Hopefully one day!

What a cute skirt! I know what you mean about the camera. It's a big investment!

you still look gorgeous! i love the floral/woodland frame for your photographs, i do like the outfit and sandals! i am envious, englands weather is pants right now, and i now need to not wear tights (hose?) any more! x
I'm really thankful for the weather, but it's already getting hot (90 degrees F here today)!
Thank you! I wish I could have found it online to share. It must be really old!
It's definitely an investment. One of the most expensive things I've ever bought, but it's worth saving up for!
It would be a great Christmas gift! I love it :)
Every once in a while I get a genuine smile on the blog. Usually I'm super posed and uncomfortable!
You will definitely have time to update, and it will be worth every penny!
I agree 100% Keesha! I kick myself all the time!

I think you are totally right about having a good camera, that being said... I take all my blog photos with my iPhone 4 :D We thought about buying a 5D (which we will some day) but we couldn't afford it. All the other cameras just didn't offer much more for us than my iphone does. With the advent of amazing photo editing programs I can get by pretty well. But I still think the quality of a camera helps project your blog, so good advice!

Hi Katie,
I'm loving your skirt, soo cute! I've commented several times now and keep meaning to invite you over to my blog to check out my weekly Frivolous Fashion Friday posts. My computer died and I wasn't blogging for about six months, but I'm back now and would love for you to say hi. I was thinking, maybe you'd like to do a guest post one week? The offer's out there. Talk soon! =)

Pretty, pretty outfit! I have a point-and-shoot but I've been debating whether or not to get a DSLR this week as a birthday present. Hearing you urge us to do it is pushing me towards yes.

That's great advice Katie! I look back at my very first couple posts which were done with the crappiest of cameras, and the difference is night & day. LOVE that skirt - so pretty :)

I know exactly what you are talking about... my first posts are so awkward. However, I've read all the way through multiple blogs, and everyone pretty much has the same awkwardness in the beginning. Mine and Kendi's first posts could have been written by the same person (I read it way after I did mine- no copying I promise!) they were so similar! Anywho, cameras = awesome!
Go for it. I promise you'll think it's ridiculous at first to spend that much money on a camera to take outfit pictures but so worth it (although I think your pictures are great already!)
I hate losing a computer! It's the worst. I am going to check out your blog right now, and I will email you this afternoon! Thank you so much :)
Well, you are much more skilled with your iPhone 4 than I am! All my pics turn out awful. DO you use any special apps on your phone or do you do all your editing on the computer afterwards?
I know what you mean. I have the T3i, I am a working on becoming a professional photography and could no afford the 60d, but I used my point shoot at a water park because it was waterproof and I was ready to throw it because of all of the missed or messed up shots.
Fabulous outfit! I'm loving the summer vibe since I live in north Alabama, and I burst into flames getting the mail today... true story.
Do you happen to remember what lipstick that is you have on? I'm loving that color.
Probably Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie. I'm loving it and you can't beat the price!
