Tunesday Tuesday: "The Joker"

"You're the cutest thing/ That I ever did see/ I really love your peaches/ Want to shake your tree/ Lovey-dovery, lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey, all the time..."- "The Joker" The Steve Miller Band

Having fashionable friends is so great! When I showed up in my coral today, my dear fashion-forward friend Tricia was sporting this awesome coral and ivory crochet sweater. I immediately asked to borrow it, and she kindly obliged (Thanks, Tricia!). So I pretty much love this entire combination. Coral is such a great color for spring.

I also debuted the messy top bun, ubiquitous among fashion bloggers,  today. Hope that's okay because I will be sporting this look A LOT this summer. On the last official day of school I make a big ceremony of packing up my curling iron, straightener, and blow dryer for the summer. This bun is a way to keep cool and keep this tangled mane under control in the heat of summer in the South (to see a bun done right, check out the precious Illy's Messy Bun Buffet from Much Love, Illy.

I remember hating "classic rock" growing up. It's the only thing my step-father would listen to when we were all together on road trip, and as a girl obsessed with Nirvana and Green Day, these trips were a form of torture. Naturally as I've gotten older (and wiser), I respect the "oldies" much more, and the Joker is a personal favorite. Every time I catch it on the radio, I crank up the volume and jam out!

love coral! and it looks great on you! I also love your bun! I'm always jealous of others that have beautiful thick hair they can put in a bun - it looks great!

I started rocking the messy, teased top knot last fall and I haven't looked back. It's my GO TO hairstyle when my hair is too ick to wear down, but not ick enough to warrant a full washing. Dry shampoo and lots of teasing MAKE this style for me. :)

You look great in coral! Love the crochet sweater, it's perfect with this outfit, and your bun looks so cute :)

I LOVE classic rock, growing up I actually used to always listen to oldies and my friends would often make fun of me... now that we're older they all love it too!

You look so cute in the coral top, coral sweater, and coral heels...everything goes so well together!

You hair looks great in the messy bun too. My hair is up A LOT in the summer or else it looks like one big frizzy mess.

I love coral for the summer. I wish my hair was still long enough to try out the messy bun trend. My dad also made me listen to classic rock when all I wanted to hear was Nirvana and Pearl Jam. In retrospect I am glad he did, but at the time I was so angry that I had to listen to "those gross old dudes."

you have an effortless bun! i'm soo jealous, i tried a 'leave hair to its natural thing' last week in work, last time i looked in the mirror i saw tousled, i realised it was more of a bush when people squeaked 'What' followed by 'have you done to your hair?' it was a day of hair justification! - your coral injection is divine and the classics i love x

Thank you, Jessica! I feel like I'm wearing coral all the time- but I love it :)

I've been humming the song ALL DAY!

Thank you! My husband LOVES Van Morrison!!

That's exactly how I was, but like you said it was worth it. I think it has opened me up to being receptive to all kinds of music. My students are always shocked at the songs I know!

Thank you, Yi-chia! I'm happy to see there are so many "The Joker" fans out there!

Girl, I totally understand the frizz. It's crazy. I am lazy by nature, but I feel like I need to do something when I'm in front of people every day!

Now I listened to the Beatles like crazy growing up, but because I was from the South I really hated Southern rockers- too redneck for me, but now I love it all (just about)Glad my bun looks good. I was a little nervous!

Tunesday Tuesday is here to make you hum a tune all day! That's it's purpose ;)
I'm glad y'all are liking the messy bun. I was a little nervous!

I know the feeling my friend. Things I love: not washing my hair, not wasting an hour fixing my hair, wearing my hair pulled up. So clearly this is perfect!

Thank you! I'm glad I'll have the option this summer for something cool!

I love it! We were definitely on the same wavelength. You'd look great in some coral! Go NOW! :)

I have the same problem with my mirror! I will think my hair looks great at home, but the mirror at work tells a very different story. Or days when I don't do anything and I get a ton of compliments, and I think my hair looks like total crap, and I'm like, "Really?!?!"
