Feeling Nutty: Random Musings and Squirrel Earrings

I really promised I wasn't going to turn this blog into a daily weather forecast, but it's so hot right now that the weather is at the forefront of my mind and my closet. We are expected to see temperatures reach 109 F (and possibly higher) starting today and continuing through the weekend. Can't you just see me, telling you this from your TV screen- pointing out little areas of high pressure and such? I might have missed my calling!

Today is the big day. I am posting before we perform the Marilyn play, but I assure you it is going to be amazingly awesome and awesomely amazing. I AM taking my video camera with me to record it, and hopefully the quality will be good enough to post. I am afraid the mic won't pick up our voices, but if I have to I will post a copy of the script too and you can follow along.  However, during final dress rehearsal on Wednesday, I just couldn't get over what a great job my group did- especially since this was a two week project.

Anyway, I hope to have that posted for you Monday morning, and even though I still have one post this week, I am looking ahead to next week, and it's going to be chock-full of awesome stuff- the play video (fingers crossed), my story about getting fitted for a new bra, and a long-awaited swimsuit shoot, just to name a few. Seriously, it might be the best week in Hems for Her history!

Sorry, for me to bring it up today. Big time tease.

I'm so jealous of today's weather report! It feels like it has been grey and raining here for weeks. You look lovely and cool in that dress though. Good luck for the play, can't wait to hear how it all went xo

Um... I cannot wait to see this play. I kind of wish I was there to see it in person. And is it creepy for me to be excited to hear about your bra story? It's ok though right, cause we're practically BFFs. Side note: seeing Abe Lincoln this weekend and will be emailing you next week to discuss. :)

You look super cute in this dress, love the yellow peeking through.

I am a sucker for animal jewelry. I love those earrings. I am really excited to see the play. A swimsuit shoot?!?! You are a brave lady and I can't wait to see it! I am going to get zero work done next week during this epic week in your blog's history. I will probably never allow my blindingly pale bathing suit clad body to grace the internet. I know, there are hoards of disappointed people out there.

Oh, my practically BFF, I love you so much! I wish you were here to see it in person- we've got some good laughs planned! I started typing up my bra story last night, and it's so long, but one must be thorough when discussing boobs! ;)

I am so excited to hear (read) your thoughts on Abe Lincoln. I'm sure you will be like me and do some research after the fact. I am excited to share notes!!

Than you Alice! I wish we could split our weathers and share with each each. You could have some of my heat and sun, and I could have some of your gray!

I know! Aren't they so cute! I do not wear them enough. I may not survive the weekend at 109! The A/C can only cool so much!

Ugh, NC weather is supposed to be killer hot this weekend too. At least it looks like it will be a dry heat instead of our usual hot & humid.
I love the bronze accessories, so cute and different. Is the whistle necklace functional? You might need it to keep the Marilyns in line!

Great pop of yellow underneath the dress! I can't even imagine 109 degrees. It's gonna be 80 here in SD, and I already feel like that's hot haha.

Well gee thanks. Now I can't wait until next week either! (I might also be doing a swimsuit post!) Break a leg on your performance today.

109?! Yikes and I thought it was hot here! I love the yellow tank layered with your dress and your geode ring is so cool! Good luck with the play, can't wait to see the video. :)

Hope your play went well. Can't wait to see it!! Wow, 109. I can't even imagine how hot that is anymore. Growing up in Northen Cali I used to ride my bike around in those temps, crazy! I would die now!! 80 degrees is hot in Canada and sadly I'm acclimated and sweat like a pig. Actually pigs don't sweat, so I guess I sweat like a teenage boy playing football. hahaha

Looking forward to all of next week's post!! =)

I love the jewelry and your dress is perfect for all the hot weather! I can't wait to see and hear all about how the play turned out - hopefully you can hear everyone on the video. Have a great weekend :)

Thank you! The play had a few little hiccups, but I am hoping I can get it up on the blog. Curtis is going to have to help!! I've had this dress for like three years and I love it so much!

Hems for Her, a.k.a. Katie said...

The only reason I don't look like I'm going to melt is because I am literally outside for 10 minutes! It's too too hot, Keesha! Stay cool this weekend!

Hems for Her, a.k.a. Katie said...

I start melting at 78 too. I don't like the heat! And thank you so much! I am glad you are looking forward to next week. It's going to be pretty awesome!

I need to move to Canada! In the last year, my hormones have gone crazy and I too sweat like a pig/teen boy. It is so gross. Makes working out a real pain (as if I need any other reasons to hate working out!)

Hems for Her, a.k.a. Katie said...

Thank you! Thank you! And I don't have the good luck to be so close to the beach!! ;)

Hems for Her, a.k.a. Katie said...

I am so excited you my be doing swimsuit pics too! Yay! Thank you for the "Break a Leg". It went pretty well!

Hems for Her, a.k.a. Katie said...

I am so jealous of California weather! I can handle 80- anything over that is unbearable!

Hems for Her, a.k.a. Katie said...

There's definitely a difference between dry heat and humid heat. I don't care what anyone says! I vacationed in Arizona in the middle of July with temps in the 120s and never broke a sweat. Step outside with this weather and you immediately start sweating! Sadly the whistles was not functioning- it would have definitely come in handy!

Hems for Her, a.k.a. Katie said...

It's gonna be pretty damn epic. You are correct. I'm either brave or crazy about the swimsuit! Hopefully I won't have too many readers that day...
