A Pillar of Confidence

As much as I hated last week's maxi skirt, I'm not quite ready to give up on the trend just yet. I loved all the suggestions I got, and I am definitely going to re-work the outfit and re-blog it (probably next week). I literally sat down with a notebook and wrote down all of your suggestions, and I am ready to go! In the meantime, as you will see from today's outfit, I took to heart many of the suggestions and I think this may be one of my favorite outfits to date!

Curtis and I got up super early and drove downtown, looking for cool places for pictures. We were stopped at a red light when Curtis pointed out this magnificent church. It's over one hundred years old and the pillars and curving stairs, all in marble, make for a breathtaking sight.

You notice I am wearing a v-neck t-shirt, a long necklace, heels, and a super confident attitude! I felt great :) The skirt is currently on clearance at Old Navy, so if you want it, you better buy it now!

I think this maxi is a win! You look beautiful :) The church you chose is beautiful as well. All that marble is breathtaking!

I LOVE the print of the maxi skirt. It is so cute! And it looks fabulous with the yellow shirt. The background was great! I am always looking for new places for pictures but sometimes the only thing I can do is the driveway. My little boys usually dictate when/if and where pictures will happen...

I love everything about this outfit, but I especially love your big smile in that last photo. You look comfortable, confident, happy, and that's better than any accessory:)

Love it all! Glad you're going to give the other skirt another chance, also! BTW, I meant to tell you - I think you have pretty arms! You have great skin. So don't be ashamed of them!

I wore a similar outfit this week but did not tuck in the tee. Should have done that. Love that yellow paired with the black and white and love your style

Yay! I love it! Even though you aren't smiling in most of the pictures, you look confident rather than unhappy. I love the "smize" in the first picture :)
The yellow with navy and white is a lovely color combo (one of my favorite to wear), the silver bangles are great, and the location is inspired. Love, love, LOVE!

These photos are so pretty. It makes your print and color really pop off the background of the church. I wish my hubby could go with me in the morning scouting for outfit picture spots!

Looked at the skirt and instantly had a "want this bad" moment...and then saw your little blip about it being on clearance. Hmmm. How can I resist this?

very nice! I'm wearing an identical yellow v-neck tee today! I paired mine with a light grey knee-length skirt (A-line!) and yellow sandals, topped with a jean jacket. I feel like we're sort of twinkies!

I haven't tried the maxi skirt yet... I haven't found one my size that fits my height and the one's I've tried aren't flattering on me. You look super cute and comfy so you've inspired me to try it out!

I saw these shoes on Currently Coveting! Erin was comparing them to a pair of Steve Madden wedges. These are from Payless :) Pretty comfy and super high heel!

I LOVE the navy paired with the yellow top! The way you styled this maxi is great, Katie! I actually gave in and purchased my first maxi dress in the Bahamas so I need as many styling ideas as I can get :)

PS Thanks again for filling in for me while I was gone!
