Tunesday Tuesday: "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)"

"I think that life's too short for this/ Want back my ignorance and bliss/ I think I've had enough of this/ Blow me one last kiss"- Pink "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)"

So, I know the last month I've been laying it on pretty thick with current pop hits, but there's just something about summer and the radio. You know what I mean? Some songs are just "summer songs". They make you drive fast and sing loud. If it wasn't 110 degrees outside, you'd roll the windows down and share it with everyone. Ah, summer songs, how I love thee!

I'm pretty sure that Pink is my favorite female artist ever of all time. She is beautiful and smart. She's got a great voice, amazing lyrics, and a sassy attitude! If you are familiar with Pink's music, then you know she's a little raunchy and naughty, and this song is no exception. "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" is like the ultimate break-up song- a final screw you to a worthless boyfriend. While I've never experienced this particular emotion, I imagine I would be a total bad-ass, just like Pink!

In reality, I'd probably turn into some sobbing, pathetic mess, a la Bella in Twilight, but in my mind, I'd be hard-core. Now today's outfit doesn't exactly strike me as something hard-core. I felt a little 1970s' housewife. I've had these white shorts from Old Navy for more than a month, but never could find a top that looked right with them.  They are cut a little generously, so they hang a little weird. I felt like I needed a tunic, but none of the ones I owned were doing it for me.

Then I remembered this bathing suit cover up I bought a couple of years ago at the beach. The colors are right on trend and it was a perfect length to give it a dress-vibe. I ended up really liking this look. Two years ago, I would have NEVER have worn a sheer bathing suit cover up as a shirt in public, but now... well, it works and I loved it. Anytime you can get double wear out of an item is a win in my book. Enjoy the video and have a great Tuesday!

Ok I LOVE PINK TOO! Her song "F**king Perfect" brings tears to my eyes everytime I listen to it. I think she is one the best singers out there. Period.

As for you outfit, its divine! I love the print and color of your tunic. It really makes you shine!

How creative to wear the bathing suit coverup as a top! If you hadn't told us, I never would've known! I agree that there's just something about summer songs :) It's fun listening to summer songs from years past and think back to the memories of that summer!

Pink's 'So What' was my anthem through the last big break up I had. I would turn it up in my car really loud and shout the lyrics. (when I wasn't at home crying and eating my feelings)
I love this outfit! It's so summery and bright. And are those peep toe jellies? I want them!

Love the top! I would have never guessed it was a swimsuit cover. Tricky, tricky. ; ) My favorite Pink song is still There You Go. I think that was her first hit. THAT is an awesome break up song!!
Here's a blast from the past. Do you remember this???

I just heard this song for the first time this morning while driving to work. Liked it! I adore Pink and her awesome attitude. She was on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show this morning and it made me love her even more.

I haven't listened to the radio in years...probably 3 years. I downloaded a song on itunes and thought it was so great and said so on facebook. Everyone replied and said it was the most over played song on the radio. Oh. Great. I pretty much just listen to dance/electronica music so I don't know what is popular anymore!

love it - great outfit, you look good in every colour! - i use beach cover- ups as top/tunics when we have nice weather (england is currently having the worst weather EVER i am currently sulking.......big time!!!) break up songs are soo necessary for those melancholy moments and extra soft tissues (obviously!) i am now whisked away to a time a boy broke up with me, he told me he was seeing someone else (how rude!), i responded 'you are breaking up with me, look at me (pose)..and look at you' i then sat down, i stayed to prolong his discomfort and slowly finished my drink, when i was ready and in my time i sashayed my sweet self out - at the time i felt magnificent!! x

Isn't it funny how a few years can make something previously unthinkable suddenly fashionable? Seafoam (aka mint) used to be considered hideous! You look like a hip, 70s housewife, so no worries.

haha I actually cannot stand that particular Pink song, although I love all her others...not sure why! I love the colours & pattern on that top though - so pretty & summery.

Seriously, you are so awesome. I love love love your Tunesday Tuesday posts - so far, I have LOVED pretty much all of your songs. Pink is definitely one of my favorite female artists - she make me proud to be a woman!

Your outfit is so awesome - casual but completely put together. Using the coverup as a tunic is perfect!!

I too love me some pink! I like to think I'm pretty badass :D But don't catch me on the third week of the month, eating chocolate and crying at commercials :D I love this printed tunic too! You look so great in bright colors! Naturally you look very bubbly, but colors make you pop! Thanks for watching my video too. I was pretty self conscious b/c it's the first video I've made and hearing my own voice is so weird! I do like though that people can connect my face with my voice, it's nice to know what the people you always talk to sound like :)

Such fun summery colors! And I know exactly what you mean about radio pop songs in the summer - except we don't have A/C so I really do roll the windows down and belt them out :D

And I think we finally found something we disagree on... I don't like Pink *don't hit me*

These are fun and cheerful colors, but blue is truly beautiful on you. The shades of blue on you in your last entry is one of your best color combos.

She has several songs that make me cry, including that one, so I understand exactly what you are talking about. I think it's a combination of the lyrics and the vulnerability she can sing with! Chill bumps!

Then sing loud with Xi-chia! :) I would absolutely DIE without A/C- seriously!
