I mean I didn't even do anything exciting this weekend to tell you about. Well, unless you count buying a bag of shells in hopes that our freshly molted hermit crab would pick a new home (and he did, in case you were curious). I cooked a few dinners. Played in the kiddie pool. Took some pictures. Watched some X-Files. We are wild and crazy in this household. While I keep my fingers crossed that something "blog-worthy" happens this week (and I am going to the gynecologist Thursday, so that's bound to be full of giggles and good times!), I will tell you a great story about taking these pictures.
Sean was in rare form. We were taking photos on the sidewalk of our town's former soccer field, so Sean was running around, picking up sticks and spinning in circles and photo-bombing the pictures. At one point he stops playing and starts watching me. "Stop acting awkward," he demands, while I am posing as naturally as I can. "You look weird, Momma," he continues. "Momma, you're so awkward!" Totally a high pressure situation. I felt like I had Tyra, Mr. Jay, and Ms. Jay shouting orders at me!

| Tank- Old Navy Skirt- Thrifted Wedges- Payless Shoes |
I usually title my posts after I've written them, but as soon as I mentioned pressure for the second time, I knew I needed to call this one "Under Pressure", and then I was mad that it wasn't Tuesday, because this would have been a great Tunesday Tuesday post. Alas, I have no other photos to use, so this is the only post I have to offer on this Monday. And I still have to pick a song for Tunesday Tuesday. Talk about pressure!

Haha - I love the detail on that top... and amen to lazy weekends! I did a whole lot of nothing yesterday and it felt amazing! And I'm sure you are amazing "under pressure" :)

lol! some times kids can be too honest for their own good, you don't look awkward in the pictures though, you look beautiful!
Haha, I love that Sean gives you input! Love that skirt (thrifted?! awesome!) and I think you did a good job under pressure ;)
sean is too cute! i love that! also love antm reference - who can 'smize'? - smiling with eyes that miss tyra can do so well - your first photo is definately cool moody model though!and i love your breezy outfit - good luck on your gynae visit, i always feel after an examination i should have a cigarette and know the doctor at least on first name basis x
Ha ha, he sounds adorable, and yes you are right, you had an awesome blogging week last week! This outfit is very pretty...I just love the print on that skirt!

Yes great comeback! Ya done good kid lol. Cute outfit but most importantly (at least to me) the polish on your toes is soooo pretty :)
Hi Katie! Even though I was away on vacay last week, I'm so glad I read your posts, seriously they were must reads. :)
You look so cute in that skirt... haha, picture taking is really a lot of pressure sometimes!

Your son sounds like such a little ham! You might have to teach him not to be so honest before he starts dating :P I love that you keep finding new things to pair those fabulous navy wedges with. This outfit is simple and that's what makes it so chic!
I love that Sean was calling you out for being awkward - too funny! I think you look really cute - love that skirt and the wedges :)

Haha, that is so funny that Sean is critiquing your poses now! Has he been watching America's Next Top Model? :) The Under Pressure song is now playing in my head, hehe.

Kids and fashion are a funny mix. My 6-1/2 year old son pronounces my outfits "stylish" or "very Project Runway" when he likes what I'm wearing.
You do NOT look awkward! I love that skirt. How comfy are those wedges? I have messed up feet from years of ballet, modern, and jazz classes and I HAVE to wear comfy shoes.
You could use "Ice, Ice, Baby" for Tunesday Tuesday. It's essentially the same music as "Under Pressure," right? Ding, ding, ding, ding-a-ling, ding!
beautiful skirt, beautiful girl <3

Haha! Lots of pressure! Still, you look cute (and totally not-awkward!)
I love that outfit SO MUCH; that skirt is amazing! And you look like you're surviving our Southern heat wave!
The ruffle top is so cute and I love your writing style! Glad I found your blog today!

Hey Katie :) loving the matchy-matchy-ness of your outfit!! I love when my outfits just tie together! Also, I don't think there's anything wrong with updating us on the mundane points in life! Haha, if all you have to tell is is that you're going to the gynecologist on thursday, and share an outfit, we will still love you :) I do that too… I'm like, what should I write about?! They don't want to hear about my boring teacher/student life… but oh well! Part of being a life and style blogger I guess! I hope Monday was kind to you ;)

Ooh Katie, crochet wedges? Are they comfy? :D
http://thebelatedbloomer.blogspot.com
I would want to run a marathon in them, but they are comfy and under $30
I am so glad you did too! Thanks so much :)
Only in small doses, Erin. As soon as I step outside I start pouring sweat!
Thank you, Kristian! Sometimes kids are just too honest!
He is really funny! I love these wedges- can't beat the price either!
I love Payless shoes, seriously! Such great deals!
Apparently my four-year-old has seen enough to be an expert ;)
Thanks so much, Elena!
Takes one to know one! ;)
Thanks Hannah!
Kids are precocious, that's for sure! I don't know where he gets it from ;)
The shoes are comfy for light, daily wear- I wouldn't want to walk for 3-4 hours straight in them, but short distance is great!
We love it, but he doesn't watch it with us! I don't know where he got awkward from, but it cracks me up every time he says it. I think that needs to be my next video upload!
They say little kids don't lie! Thanks for setting him straight! :)
I don't know, I might want him to stay that way and prevent dating ;)
I am obsessed with these wedges. I think I need to buy them in other colors!
I'm glad you did too! People don't realize how tough fashion blogging really is, especially with a three-foot critic!
I've been wanting yellow toes, but after seeing Megan's wedding pics I knew I needed them! I couldn't resist!
He is adorable and just too much sometimes!
I really love this skirt, and of all people, my mother-in-law found it at a thrift store for me!
I practicing smizing every single day ;)
After that kind of intimacy, we definitely should be able to call them by their first names!
My mother-in-law got my this skirt! Can you believe? I just wish Sean's input was a little more, "You look awesome, mom!" But I know that's what he really means!
They definitely are! I just tell myself that he probably doesn't really understand what awkward even means... However, the way he says it leads me to believe he knows exactly what it means!
It really is a great feeling! glad you got to enjoy "nothing" too!
Kids are brutally honest arent they?! LOL
My "photographer"/best gal pal's son is often around when we take my blog pics and he's always shouting out things like "I dont like that pose Ms. Georgette" or "Smile more!". The funny thing is I start following his directions!!! LOL
As usual you look cool & beautiful!
This outfit is soo cute!! Sean is hilarious! "You look awkward". He's a director in the making. lol And yeah, your post title would have been perfect for tune Tuesday.
Hahaha omg I can't believe he was telling you you look awkward. I think that's such a funny thing for a kid to say. Well I think you look beautiful!
Hahahahahahhaa that's so funny that Sean would give you so much directions! hahahahaha. I find myself in the same predicament sometimes where my life seems un-blog-worthy. You look beautiful in this outfit (as usual). I especially love your cute shoes.
