Teachers head back to the classrooms today. We have a week of meetings and workshops before we meet these year's crop of students, but for all intents and purposes- summer is over and school's back in session.

Oh, how I will miss sleeping late and mid-day naps and staying up super late to read books! I know most of you don't get summer vacation, so I will keep it brief. Summer 2012- you were awesome. I remain concerned as to how I will balance family, working, and blogging, but I know it will work out! I hope you all have a great Monday :)

Love your hair here! It looks so wavy and dreamy :D
Good luck back at school today, and I know you will learn to juggle all the responsibilities yet again - no matter how difficult it may seem :) RIP summer 2012.
My teacher friends still have another week or two of summer vacation. I love that skirt. As I should since I also own it. I've only really paired it with a gray t-shirt. How else have you styled it? I'd like to wear it more before the Fall hits.

Yes maam you made a great buy when you decided on this skirt! As far as balancing is concerned I just blog when I can and make it work lol.
I have a floral skirt from Old Navy a friend gave me. I love it. Makes me feel like a girly girl.
Is it sad that I miss going to school, college specifically? I am thinking of going back and getting my master’s degree.
You guys start school so early! The kids don't go back to school here till after Labor Day. I hope you had a good first day back...I know how much you were dreading it :(

Nooo, summer can't be over! Didn't it just start?? I love this cute skirt on you, I can see why it's one of your closet staples. Good luck with the first day of school today, you'll be fantastic!

Love the skirt! Its the perfect summer skirt you can wear with everything!
I so wanted this skirt when I saw it at Old Navy! Still wish I'd gotten one :( The stripes are so festive and cute.

It's always tough to transition back to a school schedule after a blissful summer. :) Hope you adjust to the new routine soon. Love that skirt and how you pulled out different colors from the stripes with your tee and shoes. :)
Love a good striped skirt. My fave is from a blogger swap with Megan Mae Daily. You look great!
When I grouse about The Absent Minded Professor's summers off (he's also Dear Hubby), he says, "Go get a teaching job." lol
Good luck heading back! I'm sure you will get into very quickly. I LOVE that skirt! I'm so into stripes right now, and I just love the colours! It looks really great on you!

I almost bought that skirt but passed since I'm not a huge skirt/dress gal... I mean I've already told you how I feel like my lady parts are just dangling in the wind. Got your comment... if I lived by you I would drive over slurpees in hand. So just pretend I'm doing that and maybe it'll put a smile on your beautiful face!
Super cute skirt Katie! I think that old notion of stripes making you look wider, should be thrown out the window!! I am a huge stripe lover! I also think Blue is your color!! It really compliments your skin tone well! Good luck going back to school, I hope you have an eagar class this year. I subbed a few times, and girl it's hard work!

I almost bought this skirt but passed it up. If you could see me now, you would see the one-legged butt kicking contest I am having with myself. You look SO pretty in this!!!

Ha! I love that image. I really hope they come out with similar skirts next spring! But Old Navy tends to disappoint me like that!
Don't tell my sister that blue's my color! It's her favorite and she will be so mad. I never got to buy blue stuff growing up!
And BTW, I would NEVER NEVER NEVER be a substitute teacher- that's seriously the worst job ever :)
I know you would! And then you'd take me out for margaritas and buy me stuff... right? ;) You should have bought it. It's long enough that unless your lady parts are grotesquely huge.. well, nevermind :P
I sure hope so! Every year I stress so much about going back, and then I quickly realize it will be just fine! I wonder if that feeling ever goes away? Thank you so much, Jenny!
I have definitely said that to my husband more than once, especially when he not so subtly hints that I should get a summer job ;)
Thanks, Carrie! I loved the tee too. It will be much cooler than layering a cardigan over a tank like I usually do!
I had doubts like I mentioned, but I am so glad I got it. Next spring (fingers crossed) they will have more for us to choose from!
Well I'm going to assure you that my lady parts aren't grotesquely huge... at least not on the lower region. They seem to be normal since my OBGYN has never mentioned it. My lady parts on the upper region... well that's a whole other sad story. Hope today was better!
I will most miss reading and commenting on all my favorites first thing in the morning. Well and the afternoon naps, of course. I am trying to decide what kid of blogging schedule I want- 3 or 4 days a week.
It sure feels like it just started. Total bummer :( Thank you so much! I am sure you will hear ALL about it!
Ugh, I know. And we actually just passed a state law about school start dates. We were scheduled to go back July 30!!!! It's ridiculous. I don't understand why we don't start after Labor Day- that's how it was when I was a kid. Grumble, grumble!
Not sad at all. I actually posted on FB this week that this time of the year makes me wish I was back in college. Living in a dorm, having an awesome class schedule. I loved all of that!~
That's true. I know what my priorities are- so that helps a lot!
I've worn it with a navy tank before and a coral tank. I love it with this blue shirt and I have a pink one I am going to pair it with very soon. I know someone with this skirt and she wore it with a crisp white button-down and it was very 50s!
Thanks, you know how I feel about my hair!
In addition to the RIP I'd like to say. "Summer 2012, we hardly knew ye, but your memory shall live forever"
Tears.
How did I miss this post yesterday? I blame all the cold meds I was on and my fever clearly I was not in my right bliendy mind! I love wearing my yellow striped Old Navy skirt, STILL waiting for them to just sponsor us already! GEEZE!
