Summer Dressing: Light and Minimal

Ever have a week when it feels like you haven't slowed down at all? I am living that week. It's been super fun, but hectic. We took a quick vacation out of town Monday and Tuesday with my mom, sister and nephew. We all had a great time. My least favorite part? Sean falling asleep during a firework show leaving me to carry him up hill for at least a half-mile. I felt like I had gotten quite a work-out!

The heat continues to be relentless- daytime hours are nearly unbearable, so clothing is light (like this chiffon dress I got from Old Navy last year) and accessories are minimal (like this necklace. Also purchased last year from New York & Co.). Hair is air-dried and that's it. It's too much effort to do anything else!

And our wireless router is broken. While we wait on our new one, I have to get on the old desktop and do everything. It's super annoying. I know I shouldn't complain, but all my passwords are saved on the other computer. The desktop can't climb in bed with me at night and read and respond to blogs. I feel a little lost. And a lot annoyed! So if it takes me a couple of days to respond or comment on your blogs, please don't think I am ignoring you. This will be good practice for school starting back and having to limit my daily blogging time. Ugh. Sorry to end on a depressing note! I'm going to climb under the covers without my laptop and read Wikipedia articles about former Olympic gymnasts on my smart phone ;)

Love that pretty black dress on you Katie! Such a bummer about the router - hope it gets fixed soon :) And I'm also super bummed John Orozco didn't medal :(

You look so pretty in this dress! Um, I totally wikipedia'ed the Olympics while I was watching as well, haha. And I loved that your son fell asleep during a fireworks show... kids can sleep through anything apparently!

Your hair air dries that beautifully?! Ummmm. Wicked jealous Katie. Wicked jealous. I have only recently gotten a lap top at home and I am obsessed. I can sit on my couch and blog at the same time?! Miracle!

Cute dress! Love that you are still so fashionable when it's so hot!

I am glad I am not the only one who obsessively reads up on Olympians! Hopefully your router is back in working order soon, it is so easy to take having a lap top (and the in-bed blog reading that comes along with it) for granted! Love your easy breezy dress and the necklace, New York & Co always has beautiful jewelry!

I like the light necklace with the black dress. Very elegant. :) Wow, carrying Sean up a hill definitely sounds like a great workout.

That is EXACTLY the week I'm having. Thankfully it's kind of starting to slow down again.

boo - when the internet breaks, I always realize just how co-dependent I actually am on that little technology. You look so pretty - your skins glows!

Totally understand the weather. Kansas has been the hottest place in the country all summer. We had 110 days for a month. Ridiculous! I just want to hide in the AC and wear as thin clothes as possible.

Love the black dress. Totally could go from day to night. So pretty!

I agree with you... seriously when school starts back in two weeks I might melt to death!

I love it too, and I wear it year-round!

Yes! I feel like I am missing a part of myself :(

And thank you, it must be all the water I have been drinking to keep from dehydrating!

Mine too! I have one more off week before school starts back so I intend to be as lazy as possible ;)

Girl, and I joined a gym, and I have been going three times a week. And I didn't eat a funnel cake while we were at Stone Mountain- I deserve a gold medal for that alone!

Love it! It's so interesting, I can't get enough. I also might have watched a TON of youtube videos from Olympic performances...

He was fifty pounds of dead weight and I am severely out of shape. However, I felt AWESOME after I got him to the car. Very accomplished.

You are definitely not alone. I have been reading about so many different people. Really fascinating stuff. I definitely am still missing my laptop, but amazingly, I have been more productive around the house... Go figure!

You should see me on my "I don't have to do anything but work out days"! It's rough! ;)

I feel like I have lost an appendage. Way to co=dependent!

Awww, thank you, Rebecca!

Thanks, Jenny.. I really love my legs, and while this dress is a little short for teaching, it's great for summer!

Ummm, it's a crap shoot. Sometimes it looks great, and sometimes it looks like total sh*t! Seriously. I just refuse to take pictures those days, or I were it up!

So many interesting tidbits, Yi-chia! I am amazed at how young the gymnasts are when they start, and how perfectly formed Michael Phelps body is for swimming. Wikipedia has been on like crazy!

I am still sad about Orozco, and I read today hat he's not competing int he individual events for some reason I didn't catch... What????
