I'll be honest- I have a little, tiny lipstick issue. As in I am addicted. When I decided to take photos, I emptied out the contents of my purse and this is what I came up with. Three lipsticks, three lip glosses, and one lp treatment. In my purse. My desk drawer at school looks very similar.
As already stated I have a lip problem. I have always thought my big, full lips were one of my best features, so I love wearing lipstick. I try to stick to easy-to-wear shades in easy-to-apply formulas. I rarely have the time to apply my lipstick careful in the mirror. I am usually applying it in the rear view mirror before hopping out of the car in the morning or in between classes in a hurry at my desk. I love lip glosses because they are pretty fool-proof (as are the wildly popular Revlon Lip Butters) and they can be layered over or under other lipsticks.
Here are some of my favorite lippy looks!

So, my husband came home singing that song!!! Now it is really going to be in my head for days :). Growing up my mom was a plane jane, she never showed me how to do makeup, so I have been hoping to get tips!! So thankful for some fun lip advice!!
I'm more of a lip gloss girl. Every time I test out a lipstick, I hate the way it looks on me. I just can't see to find the right shade! Have a great weekend, Katie!

I love makeup, but for whatever reason I have always been afraid of lip color. As a former theatre kid, I think I associate it with being on stage, so it just feels overly theatrical for every day life. I stick to sheer, corally tinted chapsticks because I'm boring like that.
Oh I love that dark color on you. So sultry. Unfortunately I'm not much of a lipstick girl but I love the way it looks on other ladies! :)

My name is Catie and I am a lip gloss junky. *head down in shame* haha Seriously though, I have over 20! Some of them are duplicates, but still. Oh and I have 2 lipsticks, same color. One for in my purse and one for at home. Not to mention my addiction to lip balm. A girls gotta have pretty, soft lips, right? ; )
Sorry to hear your week has dragged by. Here's to it being Friday!! Hope you have a fabulous weekend my friend! =) BTW, lots of cute outfits lately.

You do have gorgeous lip! I too have a lipstick fetish (I think we've been through this) ;) I love bright lipsticks, but mostly red. I think it goes back to my childhood and I always thought my mom was so beautiful in her red lipstick :) My favorite brands are NYX, Revlon & Maybelline!

Your lips ARE pretty sultry!
I really love the Cherry Tart on you!! ;-)
I am always uncomfortable in red lipstick- it's SO dramatic. But the lip butter goes on sheer and the color is buildable, so I can adjust it. Thank you!
Yeah, they are! ;) Thanks, baby!
Thanks, Tori! My mom never wore lipstick so I grew up on Carmex and Bonnebell (remember that?!?)
Thank you so much! :)
Lip glosses have come a lip way in the past years. I hate getting my hair stuck in sticky, icky lip gloss!
Thank you, Marta!
It's a catchy song! I'm pretty sure I sing it every Friday- it's a celebration! I'm sorry work is sucking for you, so I hope you have a great weekend.
I too like to change my mind and my lip color!
Thanks, Catie. I agree with the pretty, soft lips- I am constantly apply some sort of moisture to my lips. I hope your weekend is awesome as well!
Thank you, Yi-chia! :)
I totally understand that. Probably one of the reasons I avoid red lipstick- it seems so "fancy" for everyday wear as a teacher, you know?
You too, Sharon!
Well, lipstick is a super easy way to brighten up your face. At work if anyone ever says they look tired or feel tired, I always tell them to put on some lipstick! Instant mood brightener :)
Great idea!!
Oh I love that dark colour, something I need to add to my own collection. I love Revlon for their great line of colours.

Oooh, you look so sultry in the cherry tart color, especially paired with the bold earring! :)
The Revlon lip butter in raspberry pie is my favorite for going out ... although I'd like to work my way up to wearing it to work! Right now I'm not comfortable with a bright lip for work - I usually wear Burt's Bees tinted lip balm in red dahlia instead. :)
I love lipsticks too! and yes, you totally have gorgeous lips. I'm a big fan of Estee Lauder lipsticks because they last so long and are so creamy :)
You, my dear, have the sexiest lips of just about anyone I know so good for you for working them! I carry around an entire makeup bag of lipsticks in my purse - glad to know I'm not the only one with an addiction. I've been wearing that same Cherry Tart for the last few weeks or so and love it! And it looks fab on you.
I am definitely going to try the Revlon Lip Butter, I like what you've said about it, that the color is buildable and sheer, and now I know which one has the more true reddish hue that I'm going for hopefully I'll pick a good shade!
I think you look amazing with lipstick on, especially bright ones! :D You look especially good with the lip butter on! :D
See you there! :D

That red lipstick look absolutely amazing on you! I love it!
You definitely have full, gorgeous lips! Your lips were just made for lipstick. Especially love the cherry tart colour. Simpy stunning.

I love the red lipstick on you! Its very vixenish on you! ;)
This post served to remind me that I need to wear more lipstick! I have a post coming up on an interesting (or not) lipstick discussion! Now isn't this serendipitous? ha! I seriously have to buy a new lipstick. I think the last time I purchased one was circa 1990. Thank goodness my sister brought me two new ones this summer but I really want a nude shade to pair with my smokey eye (the one I haven't sported in the last two years). Sigh. I really need to get a life. :)
Hi Katie,
Long time reader- first time poster. I had to thank you for your recommendation of Revlon lip butter. My birthday present from my hubbie was all 20 colors from a seller on ebay for $100.00 and I love them, they are light and full of color without being sticky or heavy. I love your blog! This may sound weird but seeing you with your confident way and same size chest as me, which has always felt to me like a burden and something to be hidden, well, it inspires me. I started wearing brighter colors and not trying to hide my substantial ;-) assets so much. So, Thank You!!
You are a role model to me (even though you are a bit younger),
Beth
That is AWESOME!!! I am going to check ebay out right now! And thank you so much for the wonderful compliment. Hey, if you got 'em you might as well flaunt them. I think I look slimmer and my boobs smaller when I am wearing well-fitting clothes. Honestly! Thanks so much, Beth!
I loved your post. And hey that girl taught me a lot. Maybe not you, but I was definitely informed through your story! I didn't know that about Vaseline! ;)
Thank you! Reds still make me nervous! They definitely make you stand out!
Thank you, Jenny!!!
Well, that's it. I'm only wearing red lipstick from now on!
Thank you, Cassandra!
Let me know how it goes!
Thank you so much! I am blushing over here! I should have known it was the cherry tart on your lips- I've been admiring the color when I see your pics!
Hmmmm, I may need to treat myself to one for my birthday!
I actually got the raspberry pie after you posted about it. It's definitely bold. I tone it down by putting just a little but on and blending it with a lighter pink gloss for school!
They are definitely on with the lip butters right now.
Thanks Katie- just fyi the store is bellagigi- Regina is the seller and she's very nice! I realized I had 2 of one color and so was missing one of the 20- she replaced it right away and even threw in a different lipstick too- very nice customer service, which can be so rare on ebay these days.
