I love belting things. I really hope it doesn't go out of style! I belt dresses, sweaters, skirts. I own skinny belts, wide belts, colored belts, leopard print belts. You name it, I got it! Belts are your friend, ladies!
In my first Gwynnie Bee shipment I received this beautiful tunic top, and I was so excited to wear it. However, I guess I think I am an Amazon or something because the photo clearly showed the top as being quite long like a dress, and I was imagining a flowy, to the hips top. I could have been disappointed, but instead I was resourceful!
If you don't have a wide belt in your arsenal, you are missing out! It is so versatile. I turned this dress-length top into the perfect kimono top by simply folding up the excess material and covering it with my belt! Such a difference, right?

Isn't it funny how one simple thing can transform a look? That belt is perfect - I love the width, I totally need something like this!

Looks better with the belt. I used to have that belt but someone took it off me. Yep. I have all kinds of belts too. It's a must have accessory. Belts actually got me into discovering fashion blogs. I had no clue how to wear a belt and I went to the internet for help and stumbled on blogs. k at www.beautystyleandgrowth.blogspot.com
Did I miss where the belt is sold?
You look super edgy with all the black and hardware with the pretty top. Love the way you've belted it! I tend toward skinny/slim belts because I get uncomfortable when wide belts bunch up in my bidness.

Mike makes fun of my belt collection. He doesn't understand the purpose of wearing a belt for anything other than to keep your pants up! I love the contrast of the floral top with the tough black accessories. I want a better look at those booties!
I never saw the point in belts, other than for holding your trousers up, until a couple of years ago and now I don't think I have worn a dress without one in months. They are just so useful. I absolutely hate buying them thoug, for some reason I find it much harder to make decisions about accessories than i do clothes in general, but I've got quite a good collection that came free with various dresses. It's a great way to add a pop of colour to an outfit xo
I love belting tops...it nicely cinches in a top that's a bit too big.

Way to maneuver that top. Looks great!
You look kind of like a badass in this. Maybe it's all the black? IDK. ps the hair is bangin' today. Super bouncy looking and shiny!

I don't have a waistline. I mean I'm not oversized but I don't have a waist. I'm just rectangular! :) So I agree with you about the belts. And another good way is peplum to get the hourglass look. You look so fine with this outfit by the way :)
I like it. I know it's supposed to be about the top and the belt but I actually am digging the boots!

Cute! I love belts too and need to get more in wardrobe. They can also dress up an outfit and I like that because I don't really own an 'dressy' clothes. haha
That Gwynnie Bee site is soo cool! What a great idea.
Hope you're feeling better!! If you lived close I'd bring you some soup and biscuits! =) Have a great day.
Cute! Belts have become my best friends after I got curvier from 3 kids :)

I love belts! Also this post came at the perfect time for me. Your ingenious belting of tunic/dress will make it easier for me to vary my wardrobe without packing too much on my upcoming trip. I can use a dress as a top during the day and then wear it as a dress on a different evening. Genius!
Ah it wouldn't have even occured to me to do that, so clever! Love those colours on you and that print is fabulous!

Im a HUGE belt fan! I own so many belts & different colors. I like showing off my waist so I wear a belt 90% of the time. Love the print of that tunic.
Katie, I wasn't much of a fan of belts till my niece introduced me to the magic a wide belt can weave. Instantly, a shapeless tunic gave me an hourglass figure and I was in love! hee hee! I love the double buckle on your belt! :)
I couldn't agree more...belts do wonders for curvy bodies! Your blouse definitely looks amazing with that great belt!

Such a simple yet dramatic outfit - I really like how you went all black on the bottom to showcase the top. A wide belt like that one is on my wishlist!
I used to hate belts, but now I collect them - they really are such a fun way to finish off a look and flatter your figure. :)
