Plaid Redux

Even though I've only every been to a pumpkin patch once, I feel like this is a perfect outfit for pumpkin picking or apple picking or something equally fall-ish. I wore it grocery shopping, which isn't exactly what I had in mind at all, but sometimes life's not about the photo opportunity. You know?

Shirt, Jeans, and Boots- Old Navy

Sometimes I have to remind myself that I am just an ordinary girl. Every day is not a photo spread. Every day doesn't have to be perfect. Some days the hair gets pulled back in a messy bun. The lipstick gets forgotten. The blogging is an afterthought in a never-ending list of 'to- dos'.

I've been so distracted lately. I hate to be one of those cryptic bloggers alluding vaguely to awful or exciting things in my posts, but I assure you that by the end of the week, all will be revealed!

I think your "ordinary girl" look is pretty extraordinary!

This is so true! I know how mad I got when I couldn't get "perfect pictures" at Disney in August. I flipped my lid. It was my first time and it was supposed to be magical. I'm gonna quote Miley Cyrus on this one "Stop living for moments and start living for people." Some times you have to just enjoy everything around you with the people you love.

Ha- the sentiments of this are something we all could do well to remember!

You were probably the most fashionable one at the grocery store though :)

LOL with the alluding/ cryptic blogger thing. We're all guilty of it from time to time. Sometimes you gotta tell people in your "real life" what's going on before you share it. Love the plaid and jeans:)

I think we have all done the odd alluding blogger thing at one time or another. Love this outfit, I'm crazy about red plaid at the moment xo

I understand! I get that way too and I don't have a little one at home to chase around. But, sans lipstick and with the bun, you are still freaking beautiful!

Not much longer (and not pregnancy related. In hindsight- I should have said that!). I'm pretty excited, but nervous at the same time!

Thank you, Alice, and you are right- it's a blogger cliche/stereotype because it's true!

Hems for Her, a.k.a. Katie said...

Exactly! Plus, it hasn't technically happened yet....

You bet your butt I was the most fashionable!

Not a pregnancy announcement, I promise that!

I love this plaid shirt on you and I'm really loving this top knot, even though you call it a messy bun. Now you have me curious for your reveal. Since you seem to be excited about it, I'm going to guess it's good news, so yay!? Hope you have a FABULOUS Thanksgiving my friend! :)

I love this. Definitely a great fall outfit for any occasion. I've been wrestling with the idea of just being normal versus trying to make more grand blog outfits. It can be exhausting. I think one of the things I love about your blog is that you are normal and you re-wear your clothes like normal people. I think it is important to present that to people, especially since so many blogs I read tend to not show that.

It's what I want to present, but my inner-voice keeps questioning everything I do. lol

I don't know how people find the time to blog! Especially like you with a family!

Seriously so cute. I think this simple, classic outfit highlights your beauty more than some complicated getup. :)
Now you've piqued my curiosity - I'll be keeping an eye out for new posts. :) I don't mind the occasional cryptic announcement - sometimes it's fun!

Katie, your skin is so gorgeous it is killing me. Nothing wrong with a little chic grocery shopping outfit. Way better than the yoga pants I've been known to toss on in a hurry :)

I love this outfit. I saw that top at Old Navy but was afraid to buy it because of the pockets on the chest. You're making me consider getting out of my comfort zone, lady!

Yes, this is definitely the perfect outfit for some sort of Fall outing. I really like it! Hope whatever is about to be revealed is exciting!! =D
