| Ignore my crazy blurry alien hand! Cardigan and Boots- Kohl's T-shirt and Skinny Jeans- Old Navy |
During the fall months (of which I feel like the Deep South only *really* has one month of fall), I cannot get enough of jeans, over-sized sweaters and knee high boots. There are simply not enough days in the weekend. At school we are only allowed to wear jeans on Fridays (fringe benefit, get it?!), and sometimes that can be a total drag. Every once in a while, I'll sneak a black skinny jean into my weekday mix or a nice trouser jean on a Thursday. But really, I'm a rule follower.

I love, love, LOVE those boots!
I remember when our teachers were only allowed to wear skirts or dresses (kindergarten-I'm not THAT old.) and the next year the school district allowed pants and they had a party! The Nky school district is fairly liberal, but it's an inner-city school system. They can wear jeans, but not with t-shirts and sneakers (some still do.) My bff is a teacher and she's on the fence about it. You need to be comfortable around kids and their activity all day but you also want to set an example and show them that you dress for work and take your job seriously. I think something like this, with boots and a nice sweater or top, is a great compromise. You still look put together, but not like you are going to football game or anything. Where are you at on the issue?
Katie, I really love your boots; I purchased the exact same pair a couple of months ago, but haven't styled them yet. They are very different for me, but I see them (for me) as a more casual summer style. Still don't know what to do with them.
They look fabulous on you. Also, I can't tell you how much I love your haircut. You look perfect with that cut.
LOVE the boots! My office is super casual so I can wear jeans on a daily basis if I want, but I try to change it up :)

Love this cozy outfit! I totally sneak black skinny jeans in on non-fridays all the time! Glad I'm not the only one. Can you wear corduroys? I wear my skinny leg cords s a lot in the winter as a jean substitute at work. I've been searching for a gray or khaki pair.
Love this olive green sweater on you! And those boots are so cute - glad you've been wearing them :) And are those owl earrings I spy?!?! So cuteeeee
Love the way you styled these boots with the sweater, super cute Katie! I'm not sure what I would do if I can't wear jeans to work... sometimes it's just a jeans kind of day!

I love this outfit, jeans, boots and a big jumper is definitely what is needed at this time of year. I've been having real problems this year finding a knee high pair that I can do up over jeans though, apparently my calves are a little bit too curvy. These ones are a good height and super cute though xo
Your fringe boots look aaaaamazing in this outfit!! I can imagine just how much fun it is to walk in them with all the movement, how cool! I'm sorry to hear you only get to wear jeans on Fridays to work, because you totally rock them ;)

Love the sweater! I just bought the exact same one in ivory!
The boots an the hair! I love it all!
Wow, I just saw the hair - what a drastic change! You look super cute - it suits you well! ;-)
I love how you styled these! I saw them at Kohl's too!! Also, when you talk about being from the south I imagine you with a Paula Dean accent. Now, I am dying to hear your voice, because I never associate a southern accent with your writing except when you bring up where you live. So, moment of truth do you sound like a southern belle?
