Currently: Twirling in Charter Club

I was feeling a little uninspired today, I guess it's all the rain from the past few days, so I decided to borrow a page from Sometimes Sweet and share a little "Currently" post with you! Please share your own! Let's catch up!

Dress: Charter Club c/o Gwynnie Bee
Shoes- Kohl's- last year (similar, similar)
Thinking about:  How busy I am going to be in the month of May! For some dumb reason, I have waited until the last possible minute to start research papers, so I am stressed about the students finishing the essays and then me grading them before final exams start (in two weeks! AAH!). Sean graduates from  pre-K on May 17 and kindergarten registration is this week. Oh gosh, and he has THREE loose teeth. How did all of this happen? My baby is not a baby! I’ve got meetings out the wazoo- like two or more every week this month! So much is happening so fast. I just need to remind myself to breathe.

Feeling:  Insanely nervous and/or excited about an upcoming business venture. I can’t give too much away right now because I’m still in the planning stages, but I can’t wait to share it with all of you (And I hope you will love it as much as I do!). Sorry, I can’t stand when bloggers get all cryptic and secretive… I promise I will tell you everything very soon!

Flower- From the yard
Earrings- Cato's (super old- similar here)
Watching:  The Disney Channel. I swear I don’t think our TV ever leaves Disney. But the crazy thing is I really, really, really like some of the shows. I guess it’s my guilty pleasure. “Dog with a Blog”? Adorable. “Austin and Ally”? Too cute. “Good Luck, Charlie”? Obsessed. Oh, and that Scott Baio show on Nick at Night- hilarious.

Reading:  Warriors Don’t Cry. This is our summer reading selection for the upcoming tenth graders, so I want to have a head start on them. I know it’s crazy to imagine, but kids actually really HATE reading in the summer, so I am trying to get them excited. The book is about the Arkansas Nine and the integration of Central High School in Little Rock, so it is very emotional and moving. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights movement, and I have planned a guest speaker to come out from the Civil Rights Institute to introduce students to the time period. I am also going to set up book club meetings and a website for discussion all summer long. I’m really hoping the kids will read and be excited to discuss it when school start back!

Looking forward to:  May 24th- the last day of school! Enough said, right?

Making me happy: This beautiful Charter Club dress from GwynnieBee. I have been searching all over for cotton jersey dresses for the heat of summer, and this one fits the bill perfectly. I love the colors (so glad that orange and coral are still in this season) and it is so, so comfortable!

So what are you "currently" up to?!?

Love this dress! And it's only annoying when bloggers are secretive and never reveal the secret, so just make sure you tell us when you can :)

I love that dress! It looks great with those wedges, too.

Kids don't necessarily hate reading in the summer; I remember one summer in high school when I read over 100 books but didn't start my assigned reading until 2 days before school started up again. Some of us were just nerdy rebels who hated being told what to read :)

What a pretty dress :) The colors are gorgeous with your complexion. And I know I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again... but I'm so jealous of your upcoming summer break!!!

Hmmm...currently I'm sitting on the couch recovering from a busy busy busy weekend trying wrap my head around the fact that my little guy turns one on Friday, and his party is Saturday, and I haven't done a darn thing to prepare for it. Better get crackin'!

I am currently . . .

Thinking about - how much I need to get done this week.

Feeling - a little bit overwhelmed.

Watching - Doctor Who. It is my only "Must Watch" show on right now. Plus, we're planning to re-watch the series in preparation for the 50th Anniversary Special this fall.

Reading - Well, I just finished Gregor and the Marks of Secret by Suzanne Collins and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I'm going to start Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban while I wait for Gregor and the Code of Claw to become available at the library. I'm also in the middle of Vanity Fair (audiobook), Matilda, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and the Wishbone version of Journey to the Center of the Earth. Oh, and Agatha Christie's very first, The Mysterious Affair at Styles. I read a lot.

I've always wondered what happens if you love a GB dress so much you can't bear to send it back. You look like a ray of sunshine in that dress (still raining here.)

Peace & grace,

this dress! so fun, so many twirls. I love the coral shoes with it - they look comfortable but enough to stand next to that dress...does that make sense? I just think they are really cute!

Adorable! I love the dress on you - it's so sassy! But I love even more what you're doing for your 10th graders. You make me want to shake myself out of my funk and plan my summer homework for pleasure instead of pain. LOL. I think I'm so jaded because our last day of school isn't until June 18th. Argh.

I LOVE THIS DRESS ON YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH. And I want it. Lastly, ain't no shame in the Disney channel. I used to watch shows on there often until just a year ago when we got rid of cable!
